In search of a great hotel...

Hi! I%26#39;m new to tripadvisor and have found a great deal of useful information here. We are planning a trip to DW for my daughter%26#39;s 8th b-day in Sept. and still looking for the best place to stay...clean and free of roaches, bedbugs, timeshare salespeople, etc. On the list of contenders: Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate, Marriott Orlando World Center, Hilton at WDW Resort (stayed for a conference last year and had a great experience, but have not read such great reviews on this site), Residnece Inn SeaWorld International Center (seems to be a great bang for the buck). Any suggestions??

I would only comment that while the Omni is probably the newest of the lot, it is probably the furthest from WDW. If you%26#39;re going to Sea World then that Residence Inn seems like the best bet and you would be near to I-Drive.

I%26#39;ve heard great things about the Hilton

Are you going by the 22nd of Sept. ? and is your sole destination Disney World ? If so I would recomend staying at a Disney Resort and taking advantage of the Free Dinning Offer.

Thank you all for the suggestions. We are still somewhat flexible...as long as at least one of the days there is the 21st (daughter%26#39;s b-day). I haven%26#39;t heard anything about the free dining program...where can I get more info? And which of the Disney resorts do you recommend?...some look a bit sketchy.

Stayed at that Marriot a time and a world away for my honeymoon. It was nice at the time, don%26#39;t have any idea what it is like now. Have kids so stay in condotels now!

You can get more info on the Free Dinning Offer on the disney.go.com site or allearsnet.com ( alot of us use that site ). I recomend POP for a value resort, Port Orleans Riverside for a moderate resort and Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge for Deluxe resort. You can get a free quote from dreamsunlimitedtravel.com, I have used them several times and have been very pleased with their service.

We stayed at the Hilton, at the Towers level, and loved it. The complimentary breakfasts and snacks, etc. were wonderful.

We also stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter and are going back in September. Excellent mid-price Disney hotel. It%26#39;s smaller than the Riverside. The Riverside is very spread-out, whereas the French Quarter is more self-contained. We found the POFQ to be very quaint in its decor both in the rooms and just in general. We stayed in a water-view room, with a view of the river, bldg. 5, and loved it. Can%26#39;t wait to go back!

We just returned from staying two nights at the Omni at Championsgate. The property is absolutely fantastic. It is about a ten minute drive from the WDW properties. You did not say how old your daughter is, but the hotel had a wonderful family pool with slides and a lazy river. They also had a kids club with activities, etc. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We also had breakfast one morning at Gaylord Palms Resort which is near WDW and it was great and looked like it would be a great place to stay.

I can%26#39;t thank you all enough for all of your suggestions and help. It sounds like you have had great experiences at many Orlando hotels. I had also considered the Gaylord Palms but can%26#39;t get a room for six consecutive nights. Thank you again!!

Happy Planning
