Hurricane insurance

Has any one taken out hurricane insurance ??

WE are going end of August beg September.

Is it essential do you think???

Hurricane insurance

Before you seemed to not be able to get insurance for you trip- now you are asking about more? Is someone offering you coverage and trying to get you to spend more?

You need to insure yourself for travelling catastrophes such as cancellations/delays. and then for medical expenses and repatriation.

Basically, if there is a hurricane and you need to be evacuated and or moved, that should be covered in a normal policy(ie if it is mandatory or your hotel closes which is not so likely to happen in Orlando). I don%26#39;t think you need to pay extra for it. And if you are really worried about the weather, you should look into such times/events before you book- that%26#39;s why the deals are cheaper then. Don%26#39;t worry, it will be most likely be alright. In my memory, I can only remember once when Disney had to close down completely due to hurricanes, but then everyone just stays in their hotels for the day. The danger is nearer the coast where the Storm surge (ie flooding and wave force) cause the most deaths and damage. Further back from the coast you are more likely to have probs with the winds hurling debris, trees falling down, local road flooding, and possibly few offshoot tornados. That%26#39;s why you just stay in your room in your hotel.

Hurricane insurance

I did ,after a huge amount of research find insurance but it did not cover hurricanes. So i was wondering if i should try and find that too.

thanks

If your policy specifically excludes hurricanes, then you need to think about what it would cost for you if one came. You might lose a day%26#39;s park tickets if you have one for everyday of your stay (not really recommended as it is too tiring). And of course, changing hotels ac or changing a day of flights. I think that if flights are disrupted by weather youwould eventually be put on another flight and have to pay for extra hotel days. Add the cost of this* the likelyhood and cost of the insurance before deciding. Most normal travel policies would cover thes costs as a motter of course- but I know you are trying to buy in an unlikely position.

Good point amanx thanks

Don%26#39;t think there is any point in trying to get it now.
