10 nights oct/nov 07 tips on self booking etc

Good time to go, we are going in Oct, still hot, you can get a scheduled airline that will go for 10 nights, they generally fly from Manchester and london i always go with virgin. Just type orlondo hotels into google and it will bring some sites up, the same for car hire. My friends an agent and finds me the best deal on flights and accommodation, (just got Blue Heron Beach 15 nights for 拢741, sites i was looking at were coming up at 拢1200). You can use money supermarket for your flights they will bring up several operators, end of oct is half term so flights will be a pit pricey.

Happy shopping

10 nights oct/nov 07 tips on self booking etc

I would start with the flights- it tends to be the highest priced part, and where you can make the most savings by being flexible on day of departure/return. Check prices for your dates on BA.com and Virgin.com and also check travelsupermarket.com which compares the sceduled and charter services on prices etc.

Then check with the consolidators such as Trailfinders. Sometimes the can beat the lowest online price with a %26#39;tour inclusive fare%26#39; than includes your car hire or hotel (i do the car hire then not hotel as I like to be choosy and consolidators don%26#39;t have access to every hotel). Buy/Reserve some flights (can%26#39;t do this with the online sites-have to buy, can reserve for 72 hours with a consolidator). Then you look for accomodations to fit in with the flights you%26#39;ve booked. Look here at TA reviews and the forum, go to web sites like Orbitz, expedia.co.uk, Hotlels.com, hotelkingdom.com (they have mre of the condo type than some of the others). Choose your area based on ages, budget, what parks you will be visiting, etc. If you have not chosen a tourinclusive fare that includes car hire, start looking into that, and be sure to inlcudes all insurance and taxes in the quotes to compare them fairly.

Then after booking flights/accomodation/car look into tickets, restaurants, shopping, planning your park visits, talking to us, etc!

Have fun and get back to us with more Q%26#39;s as you go along.

Compare flight prices on travel supermarket and holiday hypermarket (consider the closer to to holiday the cheaper they may be.) Check out a villa price on direct holiday villas ,do a search for car rental and insurance. Then see what the tour operators want for the same holiday and take your best price.

amanx is right about it being a good time to go. Lots of good advice here. can I add that I use Airline Network a lot because of price and their efficiency towards my bookings. They have never let me down and the prices are rarely beaten. You will be flying out of Manchester and there is some stuff on offer at the moment if you are quick. i don%26#39;t usually wait .. because I want a definite booking in advance and it is ALWAYS scheduled. If you need a package that is a different tale. The flight is the big thing you can always get rooms in Orlando but you have to be prepared to test your bargaining skills and suffer a few disdainful rejections but if it saves you big bucks its worth it.

Best of luck UWE

For hotels try www.findorlandorooms.com - great prices.

Try www.usrentacar.co.uk for car hire

I have found them to be the cheapest and their cost includes all insurances, taxes and fees.

For flights as Vegas and amanx have said you need a scheduled flight. I would take their advice on this.

Weather will be fine - should still be in the high 70%26#39;s low 80%26#39;s. Not much rain either.

When I said try a travel consolidator (ie bucket shop) I mentionned Trailfinders, as they tend to deal with all the places I go. But, as vegas suggested, try Dial a flight, Travelmood, Travelbag and others. They all have adds in the travel section of the national press- Broadsheets tend to have more of them than tabliod, but you%26#39;ll get the biggest ones with any.

The biggest thing is knowing ahead what flight prices are going to be at the time you are looking at (ie use BA and Virgin sites followed by Expedia) and then try to beat it. For a really really good deal, it%26#39;s worth going on a flight with stops. But unless it%26#39;s the best deal ever it%26#39;s not worth it on a shorter holiday(7 nights or less from the UK), might be worth it on a 2-3 week one.

And then again, to really save money you can use Priceline. I never do for flights(flying from so long away and with a connection from my island it isn%26#39;t worth it), but I do for car hire and hotels frequently. Too complicated to go into this early in your thread, but ask if you want to know more. Have gotten great rooms in major US cities for $50-75 USD per night (3*Miami, DC, San fran etc). But this is an advanced independant booking option- it%26#39;s best to learn how to walk before flying by the seat of your pants lol!

thanks very much for all you help ive got plenty to go at now
