Beach Chairs

My husband and I brought the kids to PCB two years ago and loved it. We are coming back Memorial Day weekend with my parents, staying at Gulf Crest. I have a question- my parents are used to goig to Fort Walton/ Destin. She wants to know if we will be able to rent the chairs that fold out- not the wooden kind. I know the wooden ones with cushoins are the normal rentals, but do the beach service places usually let you have the fold out kind if you request them (or give them a good tip? It would be worth it to not have a fussing mother!)

Beach Chairs

I think you%26#39;ll be at Publix buying the chair she prefers.

But always ask your resort to see if

they do indeed offer what you ask.

At our resort , you pay handsomely for the beach apparatus they supply, (chair/pad/umbrella for 2) but you cant beat the TLC you get with that for the week.

The gent running the chair/umbrella operation at our resort, rest assured, sets-up at 6:30 AM daily and will come by and broom off any sand from your chair padding. Those of us who experienced Chris over at Landmark Resort know what Im talking about.

Beach Chairs

Your condo building is next to the place I stay and I think they only rent the wood chairs. Anthony is the one in charge of them. He%26#39;s a great guy and is always helpful. I rent from him everytime I%26#39;m down there.

Thanks for the feedback...

Landmark is

17501 Front Beach road

exit %26#39;%26#39;J%26#39;%26#39; on this map:

www.emeraldcoastmap.com/ecmap_front2007.html

Next to Landmark is Emerald Isle Condo%26#39;s 17545 FrontBeach Rd

%26amp; on the other side, last I saw - a bldg was under de-construction.

...We%26#39;ve driven from ATL airport last yr thru %26#39;Bama down rt.431 nice ride though the longest part was after Dothan, that last 75 miles - rt 231- seemed like we%26#39;d never get there.!!

This yr we connect in ATL to Pensacola and drive the 2 hours... It would cost us $520 each via Delta to fly into PCB %26gt; a far cry from the $278 ea. in 2005...

They are the wooden chairs not the folding ones that you see in Destin.

walmart has the soft trifold chairs I think you are talking about for around 10 dollars each. Even if you can%26#39;t find room to take it with you it is still cheap enough to buy use and leave it just to keep your mother happy. In fact probably cheaper than the rental chairs

It would be a lot cheaper to just buy the chairs at walmart-the rentals are about 25 dollars a day.

Thanks for the responses guys! Guess we%26#39;ll just see what they have. I%26#39;m hoping that they%26#39;ll at least have the fold-out kind available since it will be a busy weekend. We%26#39;ll see. If not and mother is not happy, we%26#39;ll head to walmart! Dh and I do not care- just want to get to the beach with the kids. Here%26#39;s hoping for pretty weather.

Dont forget the beach umbrella!!!,

Mom will not stay out on the beach very long with out one... ..thats THE nice thing about those dual wooden chassis padded rental chairs, the come with an industrial sized umbrella, ... the 10 dollar ones at the store wont cover much real estate....

I think with that benefit ,mom can tough it out on the rentals, for her protection from the sun , primarily...

now ...onto the beach !!! shuttin%26#39;er down folks !!

The beach chair rentals on the beach are discounted if you rent for the week or for several days than if you rent on a daily basis. They won%26#39;t tell you or advertise it you have to ask them what kind of deal will they give you for the days you need. The best way to do this is to get down there early 1st thing in the morning to talk to the guy. This works best without other customers around.

another plug for the beach chair rentals !!

... you may try the rest , but this is best...
