Im sure i have many of both that are unlisted, but since today for me was noticable, i thought i%26#39;d post.
Like-
The I4. Contrary to all you regulars, ive travelled weekdays, weekends, morning and evening rush and from Sanford - never had any delay and 70mph throughout in the last couple of weeks.
Freeway junction numbers posted by miles as opposed to consecutive numbers.
Helpful matrix displays showing any congestion and time to a certain junction.
Turning right on red works so well.
Any lane on freeways is kinda fun, and sure beats fast lane and middle lane hoggers on UK motorways.
The trucks keep overtaking me. In the UK they feel like stationery obstacles.
Fewer trucks than in the UK.
Advertising of facilities available at junctions.
I tow trailers at home and like the standard fixing on cars and trucks, just slot the tow bar in.
Dislike -
No barriers between opposing carriageways on the freeways.
The US sets the standards in road safety but -
- still not obligatory for helmets to ride motor bikes
- those damn trucks have no side barriers between wheels, you often feel like you%26#39;re gonna get swallowed up and go under the trailing wheels.
People who you let in never say or motion %26#39;thankyou%26#39;

My likes and dislikes about driving in U.S.A
Axel, how was the beach at Clearwater ?
My likes and dislikes about driving in U.S.A
Went to St.Petes in the end.
Nice and dusty white but loads of little shells all over the place.
A nice few hours chillin%26#39;
Axel, helmet laws vary by state. That%26#39;s why you see bikers with bags (luggage that is!) on the back of their bikes sometimes have their helmets strapped on the top instead of on their heads. They need them if they ride through a helmet law state but prefer the freedom of choice when not.
FL used to have a helmet law, but they changed it a number of years ago....previous poster correct....varies by state
With out been sexist axel do you think that a lady would be ok to drive then as I want to give it ago but I have never drove on the left side before.
Don%26#39;t the good ol%26#39; bikers have to amke a decision on their Insurance that the third party is no longer liable if the biker is not wearing a helmet. This seemed to be the debate when law was changed to allow them to do what they want. Totally ridiculous in my opinion after having a friend go into a vegetative state thru not wearing his helmet - but there you go Florida - its your choice.
Left or right, driving is much easier here in the US than in the UK.
Bigger roads, bigger roads, and the roads are quite big too!
Also car parking at the supermarkets makes it simple even for ladies.
Hi BS
I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s a man/woman thing but my husband definitely coped better with the car than I did, no problem with the driving itself but I really struggled with the car, my brain wouldn%26#39;t accept that the gear stick was on the right hand side and not the left.
I am generally better at the navigating though believe it or not so we stick to him driving and me map reading.
Good luck if you try it.
Axel - must agree we found the I4 brilliant and we should introduce the turning ';left'; on red-lights over here.
Totally agree - especially the thing about size of car parking spaces. Wasn%26#39;t the %26#39;turn right on red%26#39; introduced during the last fuel crisis in the 70%26#39;s? Makes a lot of sense but confuses the hell out of non US visitors - they refuse to turn in spite of the horns and gesticulations from cars behind them.
I also like the word gesticulation and may use that again today.
I too have benefited from the use of multisyllable words and I commend your apposite use of elongated adjectives. You bring a freshness and a literary sense of well being to our cherished forum.
