grand Floridian or Yacht Club

We are travelling with a 5, 7and 9 yo kids and staying for 5 days. This is their first visit to disney and we want the best possible experience for them. We are considering staying at either the grand floridian or the yacht club but are open to other suggestions also. Any advise is appreciated1

The Yacht and Beach Club has Stormalong Bay, a three acre sandbottom pool that is generally considered the nicest pool on Disney property.

And, to clarify, you can%26#39;t pool hop at Disney resorts. In other words, you can%26#39;t swim at the Grand Floridian pools if you stay at the Yacht and Beach Club, and you can%26#39;t swim in Stormalong Bay if you%26#39;re staying at the Grand Floridian. On the other hand, you can, provided you get advance reservations, eat at all the restaurants at the Grand Floridian (and the Yacht and Beach Club) whether you stay in the hotels or not, and of course visit the resorts.

Grand Floridian is pretty boring for the kiddos, and the staff can be snooty for the price.

We had almost the same question our kids are 9,7 and 3. We opted for the grand because it is so close to the magic kindgdom and we are planning to spend most of our time there. This is our big vacation for a while and I wanted to do something special. I just hope I made the right chioce. We are going in May for 7 days.

The Yacht club has great access to Epcot and MGM and as stated by others a wonderful swim area. We just returned from the Wilderness Lodge villas and these were wonderful, with good access to the Magic Kingdom by boat but a distance to other parks.

Chances are you will spend more than one day at the Magic Kingdom which makes a monorail resort more attractive. G.F. has a new pool and a sandy beach area as does the Polynesian. No child will ever be bored at a Disney resort. Yacht and Beach are very nice but the location is not as good for a family with young children. I don%26#39;t imagine with 5 days there is going to be a tremendous amount of pool time.

Thanks for all the input! We have a few more days in which to decide. The pool is a big draw at the YC but other family membersare recommending the GF.

Our favorite is the Yacht and Beach Club, the location is wonderful and as already mentioned Stormalong Bay the 3 acre sand bottom pool is a favorite among all ages.
