Convertible in May ?

Hi,

first visit to Orlando, the first two weeks of May with my girlfriend We are staying in a villa just outside Davenport. Want to hire either a convertible or a luxury car but my girlfriend has a few reservations about a convertible...

a) will it be too warm to have the top down during the day?

b) will it be too windy with the top down and mess up her hair :) ?

c) will we end up sat in traffic most of the time just breathing in fumes ?

d) will we be bombarded by insects with the top down ?

My argument is that we don%26#39;t get the weather in the UK and lets live a little while in Orlando..

Points of view please.

Convertible in May ?

Live a little. We hired a Sebring one year in summer but you have to take into account the conditions. It%26#39;s not just a question of temperature but of sun - you can burn yourself, and especially the tops of your legs if you spend too much time with the top down. Regarding messing up hair, no-one cares out there. If you are dressing up and going out to an expensive restaurant, have the top up. There is traffic but have never noticed fumes. No real problem with insects although watch out if driving with the top down in the evening.

You are right - we don%26#39;t get that weather in the UK so enjoy it!

Convertible in May ?

OK, i guess:

a) YES, you will n o t open the roof, I guess! Unless you are v e r y hard!!! :-))) (I had a convertible and opened the roof late in the evening i f so!)

b) No problem!! Have a convertible at home and l o v e wind around me... (maybe it w i l l mess up her hair but I won麓t tell her! :-))

c) I don麓t think so!!! Have been there so many times...

yes, there c a n be traffic jam but IMHO i have to say that this is n o t so bad!!

d) No, therefore you麓ll have a shield of glass :-)))

Your argument is fine... Try it and the next time you k n o w if this is for you or not... Take the luxury next time and l i v e :-))

I love florida with a n y car :-))

What do you do if a bird poops in your car...........

Dont take her out again lol

Yes is the answer to the hair question. Otherwise go for it. If it were July I%26#39;d hesitate but in May you will be ridin%26#39; top down all the time..

May is the perfect time for a converitble. If you think it will rain, stop and put the top up.

When my hair was long I wore a bandana to keep it from flying in my face while I was driving (really I went to Good Will and got the old fashioned nylon kinds of kerchiefs and my friends used to love wearing them, they would play %26#39;thelma and louise%26#39; or %26#39;go-go%26#39;s%26#39; or %26#39;grease%26#39; and we would fight over who got what color ...LOL..good memories!)

have fun!

Just watch out for the ';love bugs'; which come out in May too. They are a real nuisance and might be a problem with a convertible car.

They seem to get everywhere.

';Love bugs'; ? Are they the VW Beetle variety ? Cause I love them cars... in the process of buying my second one :)

Or are you actually talking about genuine biting nasty flying things ?

Love Bugs don%26#39;t bite humans at all, but they are nasty flying insects which, when splattered all over the front of your vehicle, take the literal paint right off.

Love Bugs are a yearly nuisance in Florida and other Gulf coast states in the months of May and September. They don%26#39;t ';harm'; anything other than vehicle paint jobs.

Cheers Kat, convertible is still on the cards then......

Hey Andy, Dollar, use kiss promo, $249 per wk. Sebring.
