hi evrybody,,we are going to spend 3/4 weeks this june in or around the islamadora area. but, where is islamadora ???? is it mile marker 80 or 76 or 82 ?we are going to rent a house ';on the water';hopefully with sunset views ,but where do we rent ,what locations/districts fall into that catagory ?,is there a ';quiet '; area ? is there a ';busy'; area ?we also plan to rent a boat [for a week at least] i realise there are quite a few boat rental companies ,who is the best ? [or worse] ?are restaurants within easy driving distance from the mile markers mentioned above ?,,is lower matacombe key [sorry for spelling] in islamadora ?is long key in islamadora ?,,.as you see ,we need as much help as possible,,many thanks ,,malachay

Islamorda is a great central location in the keys. The area around mm84 is about central. The lower the number the further south you are. There are lots of quaint little shops, good restaurants and little bars, marinas, historical sites scattered all thru the keys to explore. Stay on the gulf side for the sunset views. There is only 1 road thru the keys so you can%26#39;t get lost, there are some side streets into housing areas but no huge subdivisions. Go to the Islamorada chamber of commerce web site %26amp; request an info packet. Also the sites the previous poster suggested are helpful. I have never rented a boat in the keys but Bud %26amp; Marys seems to be popular and if you research the florida keys forum on here you will find some others mentioned.
