Place to stay for 3 days

My husband and I will be traveling to the Keys in late Oct.(10/26 thru 11/4), just the two of us. We are flying into Miami and will be renting a car. We are planning on three days in Islamorada, 3 in Marathon and the rest in Key West(flying out of Key West back to Miami). We have reservations for our Key West stay, but have yet to book the other days.

I posted on the Islamorada board and got some responses for some places to stay while there.

We would be arrving in Marathon on the 29th and leaving on the 1st. I would definetly want a pool. We will spend most days exploring , but after we are done I would like to just relax around the pool, read and have some beers. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel , with a nice pool, that perhaps is within walking or biking distance of a tiki bar or two.?

Tranquility Bay in Marathon has a tiki on the propery, it is a little pricey though. There are some hotels on Key Colony Beach that are close enough to bike to the Island Tiki Bar.

You would be better off to rent for 1 week in Marathon at Key Colony, they rent from Saturday to Saturday. You are only 1 hour from Islamorada. Key colony has a bar w/food at the pool, an Italian restaurant and another bar type restaurant right on the water near the entrance to the community. Almost all of the units are on canals some are closer to the ocean but usually more money for those. By staying there you are not spending time packing %26amp; unpacking and moving. Not worth it. It is 10 minutes from the heart of Marathon.

Tranquility looks like a nice place as previouos poster stated and is very pricey. I haven%26#39;t heard any reports yet from anyone staying there.

Check out key colony beach realty and www.vrbo.com both have rentals at key colony.

We stayed at Banana Bay recently. It is a lovely setting with

tropical plants and one of the nicest pools I%26#39;ve seen in the Keys.

Continental breakfast on site and fairly centrally located for Marathon.

We went to Marathon the first of Feb. and stayed at the Continental Inn in Key Colony Beach. VERY adequate, clean, nice pool and beach (hard to come by in the keys) and great location. Like the review before this, Marathon is close enough to Key West AND Islamorada to be stationed there. I posted a review with pictures at the Continental Inn site. We are going to take our family back in the summer and stay at the Key Colony Point. They are nice condos, again with a beach. Good luck and have fun.
