driving to key west

thanks for everyones help.route 27 sounded great until i read the post off ( cruisingtoretirement)i have got hotel in key west for 2 nights so thats taken care of.my idea is that i will leave kissimmee arond 5-30 am get to key largo for a stretch and food and carry on to key west around 11 am.there is 8 of us in 2 cars so we can swop drivers any time.i am staying at emerald isle resort in kissimmee so i will have a look on google earth to see how to follow (cruisintoretirements) directions.a big thanks to all.(only 15 days to go)i have never been to america (grandkids dragging me there) i have drove on the righthand side in europe i.e. greece,turkey,spain and found it ok,is there anything i should be wary of driving in florida.

I don%26#39;t think driving in Florida is all that difficult ...it is flat and the roads are straight and grid-like. You just don%26#39;t want to waste time sitting in traffic, which can be pretty bad around Miami. What are you planning on doing in Key West?

driving in the states is easier than at home few things to watch for are:

Speeding need eyes in back of your head in certain areas

stop signs mean stop do not be tempted to slow down and drive through

You can turn right at some lights when on red

On interstates some exits are in the outside lane

but it is a real pleasure to drive over there if you can cope with the M60 I think this is a dream
