Beach weather in March, scuba?

We are going to visit St. Augustine next week, March 13-18. Is it beach weather at this time of the year? What%26#39;s the water like?

Also, is there any scuba diving in St. Augustine or do I need to go to Daytona or somewhere else?

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Beach weather in March, scuba?

Sorry Uncle Bob, but that ocen will be very cold and Daytona Beach is just south, and will be the same way. You would have to go to So. Florida or the Keys or Caribbean for warmer water (even for a Northerner it will be cold). There are scuba companies here, and I guess they still supply gear in the winter months. Hopefully, someone better acquainted with that will come on and help you.

Locals certainly don%26#39;t think it is beach weather , the weather with the exception of a few days in the 70%26#39;s has been only a high of 60%26#39;s here lately - breezy and cold. Weather at this time of year is variable. You will be fine on the beach if there is no wind, but we get such windy days and beach weather really doesn%26#39;t start until April or so. The sand and water will be cold. Hopefully you will get some good beach days!

Thanks a lot for the info. I kind of thought it would be like that, but wanted to be sure.

Appreciate the help.

The average ocean temperature here in March is 61 degrees.

Scuba: water is too murky....you need to go way south....biscayne, key west etc...
