If not staying at Disney can we look at hotels and eat ther?

Hi, We%26#39;ve been to Florida several times and it may seem a stupid question but we%26#39;ve never looked at the Disney hotels themselves or thought about eating there. Can we just walk in ( to the main areas only ofcourse ) and eat at various food courts etc. We thought it would be nice to take the water bus from Disney Marketplace over to the Carribean Resort for example, if we can do this when not staying there?

Also any ideas or tips arond this gratefully received. Love reading the forum and have tried to help others at times too..Thanks

leeds, you%26#39;ll have to take a bus to Carribean Beach but you can take the boat to Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter from DTD. You can visit any of the resorts via bus or boat, walk around, and eat at all of them. It%26#39;s fun visitng all of them.

This is a great way to spend some ';down time'; in Orlando. I%26#39;ve made it a habit to visit at least one Disney resort per trip on our ';travel days'; when we didn%26#39;t attend a theme park. It%26#39;s a great way to see something new and eat at places you ordinarily wouldn%26#39;t.

Hi...Just arrived back today...many thanks for the advice so posting as promised...

We travelled with TCD, flight back was at 8pm so we spent all the last day just wandering around as you advised...Nice and easy. As in original question we had never visited any of the hotels etc so took the opportunity to visit several including Animal Kingdom Lodge which we particularly liked...we also took the waterboat from Disney Marketplace. It was like a mini cruise ....and all free!!! always useful on the last day...

Absolutely you can-in fact,Disney would love you to spend a little money in the resorts too but you don%26#39;t have to.You already know you can%26#39;t get a water taxi to the Caribbean Beach but you can go to Port orleans this way from DTD-don%26#39;t miss the Animal kKngdom Lodge and some animal viewing. And check out the Wilderness Lodge to see Old Faithful erupt-none of this nonsense of waiting for nature either,it erupts every hour on the hour. Of course,a good place to end your tour is at the Grand Floridian,listen to some music in the lobby and catch the fireworks from the beach. You can%26#39;t jump into the pools of course,that would be trespassing,but you can certainly wander around the grounds of any of the resorts.
