I have been looking at this sight but a bit of a chicken I guess since they won%26#39;t tell you what hotel they put you in until after they accept your offer. I would like to know what hotel and what price you may have paid. Thank-you!
Has anyone used priceline.com?
I have used Priceline but not for the Orlando area. I used it several times for hotels in my area and it worked out well. You do get to choose the star level you want and the area. I will admit that I was scared to death to see where I would end up but we had good luck. I used it for Chicago once and thought that I had entered 4 stars but in reality I had entered 3 stars. After they accepted my offer and named the hotel I was in a total panic. I had never heard of it before the the reviews were very mixed. I felt sick for weeks thinking we would be in some terrible place with our kids in downtown Chicago. When we got there the place was wonderful and we had a great time. It all depends on how comfortable you are with not knowing. I haven%26#39;t done it again, even though it all worked out I didn%26#39;t want to go through all the wondering again. = ) Trust me... when you call and try to get out of it, it is a NO WAY type of deal. They charge you and you are stuck with it whether you go or not. Good luck.

I have used it but not for some time. If there are not many 4/5 star hotels in a town you can work out what you are gonna get. However in Orlando the range is greater but you do have control of the vicinity you want. I would not worry about quality it is just the not knowing. Quality and price great location not so sure. I think it is worth taking a risk on this one - you could be very pleasantly surprised.
I just used priceline for the first time to book a hotel for this weekend in Disney. Bid on a 3 star property in Disney Vicinity (Lake Buena Vista Area) for $70/night and got t';bumped up'; to a Resort class at the Hilton in Walt Disney World (across the street from Downtown Disney). Reviews on TA are more good than bad, so we are hopeful. After seeing other forums of people getting it recently for $60/night, I think I overbid, but I can%26#39;t quibble over $10/night. With taxes, came to $84 total. I was chicken to do it to, as well as a control freak about knowing/picking exactly what I want, but ya gotta let go every once in a while. Use the website www.biddingfortravel.com to see what others have won room nights for as a guide to how much you should bid. People on the forum also use each other to ';guess'; which hotels they might get by describing the ammenities list they are given. For the Orlando forum, the link is:

It%26#39;s really not that scary. Good luck!
I%26#39;ve not used it for hotels-- but have used it for cars and airline tickets. I would not reccommend the site if you will not name your own price. Although this can be a little scary because of the way priceline.com is setup, it is definately worth it. I get 3 tickets to Boston for $75 per person rountrip (you cannot get that anywhere). For Orlando I got, I beleive, $105 rountrip per person in July. It is an awesome site.
I highly recommend using the biddingfortravel.com website mentioned above. I have successfully bid for hotels in Baltimore, Kauai, Oahu, St. John, etc.
The posts on that website are helpful b/c they give you an idea of what people bid and what hotel they actually got. Also, there%26#39;s a section on hotel reviews there once travel was completed. I%26#39;ve saved a ton of money on hotels this way. Just remember that there%26#39;s no guarantee that you%26#39;ll get what the previous posters have received but I have personally only won bids from those same set of hotels everyone already posted about.
Good luck!
I have used Priceline many many times and been happy with what I get but checking www.biddingfortravel should be your first stop. I just returned from Orlando and wanted an airport hotel under $60 and got the Holiday Inn Select which was great. I%26#39;ve gotten the Hilton at DTD for $60 several times. If you don%26#39;t want to take a chance, stay away from Priceline but you can get some great bargains
I used Priceline for a 3 star hotel near Universal Orlando. I bid $40 and was put up at the Wyndham Hotel. It was a very nice hotel and was super conveniently located near Universal and the entrance to the Interstate. We didn%26#39;t need to drive any where once we got to the hotel b/c restaurants and shops were just across the street. The free shuttle bus took us to Universal and back; the ride was about 10 minutes each way. Just today I bid $31 for the same thing and my offer was rejected. Good Luck!
I%26#39;ve never used it for Orlando but just used it for Anaheim. I%26#39;m very pleased with the hotel I%26#39;ve gotten. Doubletree Anaheim/Orange County. The reviews are great and I%26#39;m very excited!
Having used Priceline several times, in several cities, you should be aware that you may not always be able to select your room preferences. For example, you may not be able to specify a non-smoking room. All you are sure of is that you will get a room that will sleep 2 people.
Sometimes the star system used by Priceline is questionable. If you are concerned about getting a good accommodation, opt for a 4 star and bid a few dollars more.
I have a 3 Star in Orlando next week for $38 plus tax that I got through priceline.
