going to orlando for 3 week with family, wife son %26amp; daughter and grandchildren.there is no way i am going to america to spend 3 weeks at disney,so we all agreed to go to key west for a few days away from disney.we have hired 2 cars so if a couple of us want to go somewhere for a day or two away from the rides it is not a problem.key west is a place my son wants to go to so we thought we would all tag along,i have been told off people who have been there it has a party atmosphere which we all enjoy including the kids.we intend to relax there (after disney) have some nice meals a drink or two and some sightseeing.no doubt my wife and i will end up staying in one night with the kids while there parents are let off the leash for a few hours.our other holidays have all been to greece, turkey, cyprus, which are all very lively.i was hoping there was a train running in orlando which i could use to go to other parts, but i believe there is%26#39;nt one.

jajoab, Key West is a unique place :) You will see some interesting characters there... as well as free roaming chickens. There is a lot to do and see so you might want to check into it before you go. It has a party atmosphere no doubt. We went on the Trolley Tour (we didn%26#39;t have a car) and you can get off and back on at any stop for as long as it takes you to do the complete loop. Got off to go to the Hemmingway House which we all found interesting. We went on a glass-bottomed catamaran which took us out to the reef. The reef itself isn%26#39;t very colorful but the fish are. Did some wine tasting at a shop which sold tropical fruit wines... I liked the Mango Mama. Ejoyed a meal at Alonzos Oyster House located at the Historic Harbor which is a very nice. There are 4-ft. Tarpon swimming along the docks. Nightly ritual at Mallory Square is good to do for one night. Got to try a few Key Lime pies (make sure it isn%26#39;t a bright green color, it should be yellow-green). I was only there for 2 days but would love to go back someday :) Enjoy !!!

ruleoffour - what%26#39;s this thing about free roaming chickens?

LOL!!! Chinners... yes, there are free roaming chickens :) a few of them have takin%26#39; to wearin%26#39; flip flops but the rest of the chickens just turn a blind eye because it%26#39;s live and let live in Key West :)
