Lake Buena Vista Hotels

Looking to visit Orlando for the 4th Time in September, all previous visits we stayed in the Idrive area. However this time we would like to stay in the more picturesque area of Lake Buena vista. The hotels in our price range are the Marriott Village, Best Western, Double Tree etc. Can anyone recommend a hotel in that area ?

I note some of the reviews on here are not favourable about the double tree or the Courtyard.

The aspects that are important to us are the surroundings, can you walk out on a evening ? Are there eating places within walking distance ? Is downtown disney a walk away or ride away from the Marriott Village, Double tree ..? Cleanliness is abviously important too.

Can anyone reccomend any where on our budget that is within walking distance to downtown disney ?

Thanks

Susan

Lake Buena Vista Hotels

spadolphin, only stayed in the LBV area once, at Cypress Pointe, really like it, walking distance to shops %26amp; restaurants %26amp; although quite close to Disney from Cypress Pointe, it was not within walking distance.

I%26#39;m sure some of the Local Experts will be more helpful, probably catching up on losing an hours sleep last night, lol ( daylight saving started last night across the pond ) : )

Lake Buena Vista Hotels

We stay at Sheraton Vistana Resort for a week and that%26#39;s close to everything you may want to try that

The Hotels within walking distance to DTD are all on Hotel Plaza Boulevard - it%26#39;s nice and green and between the Crossroads shopping area and DTD. I believe there is a Comfort Inn? there as well. Lake Buena Vista Palace is the closest but also the most expensive, followed by the Hilton. The Grosvenor Resort is very close to DTD but, having stayed there, I would not recommend.

I%26#39;m sure there is a web site for Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels but cannot remember the address.

If you want walking distance to DTD you really need to stay on that road.

Here it is:

Don%26#39;t know what the problem was with Marriott Courtyard at marriott Village. we thought it nice. But we also stayed at the Fair field on the same site. It was cheaper and you got a free breakfast you have to buy it at Courtyard . But we though the pool was nicer and you can use all 3 if you wish. Only just across the car park is Golden Corral. Bahama Breeze and another streak House Cannot remember name. attached to the Fairfirld is pizza hut and another snack bar selling food and some shops. Great place. Bit of a walk to DTD but it is from most of the hotels you name. About a mile i would think.

We are staying there again in a few weeks.

Country Inns and suites is also nice. eating places just outside the door %26amp; acsoss the road. Couldnt fault any of these. Got far more then we pid for by British standards. Some would complain if their icecream was cold.

Hi, staying in the Springhill Suites at Marriott Village in July and all 3 hotels in the complex seem to get great reviews. Have always stayed in Int Drive previously but really looking forward to LBV. ((% of reviews are excellent so it may be worth a look. XR could probably give you a better idea. Wondering how close the village is to everything ie shops, supermarket, somewhere nice to walk? Have a great holiday XR and if you get a chance I%26#39;d appreciate it if you could post a few pics to give an idea of the village and its proximity to everything. Thanks.

I%26#39;d always recommend LBV over I drive - less concrete and traffic, more greenery. Our first stay was Courtyard by Marriott (now a defunct Holiday Inn by all accounts) on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Could not fault location and a 10 min walk to DTD.

We stayed in the Springhill Suites at the Marriott Village and thought it was great.

Loved LBV- really close to Disney and very clean, nice atmosphere too.

The SS were lovely too/ Would go back in a flash

Wasn%26#39;t overly fussed on I Drive either, looking forward to LBV though. Criagadunc can you give me an idea of how far to the nearest supermarket etc we are, and of any tips you might have?

Hi Dawg

The nearest supermarket is only about 5 minutes in the car. There is also a chemist, an Outback and a few small shops.

We stayed in July 05 and really loved it. We have 3 kids and they were then 6, 12 %26amp; 15. The suites were ideal.

The pool was never crowded and really clean.

Within walking distance there is the Bahama Breeze Restaurant (highly recommend ) and a Golden Corral (lots of very cheap, not great quality food-only ate there the once!)

There is a shuttle to the Disney Parks which we used a car -would definatley hire one)

One thing about Springhill. The breakfast gets very crowded and its sometimes hard to get a table- though there was always room at the pool!

Get down to breakfast early and grab a table. The breakfast is very nice and theres lots of it.

Hope all this helps. Any more questions fire away!
