How far in advance should your trip be booked

We are in the very beginning stages of planning. We have not even narrowed down a month. How far in advance should we be booked to be sure and get the rooms we want. Any other advice would be appreciated.

How far in advance should your trip be booked

missing the sand,

A lot depends on when you want to come and how fussy you are about accommodations. If you want to come now through April, and you want to stay at one of the nicer properties, you probably should have booked this time last year.

If you want to come in October or late May and have enough sense to stay away from the convention hotels, you could walk in the front door and find a nice place to stay.

Remember that the earlier you book your flights, the cheaper they will be.

we are going at easter this year and booked last june 2006.

previous years i have always booked at least 9 or 10 months in advance as cruising says, to get the hotel, flights etc or villa you want

Thanks so much. We are definetly talking about a year out here. Was just wondering if a year in advance would be crazy. You mention october and late may. October might be ok. we were leaning toward late September and late April hopefully spring break crowds are down by then. What do you think of these times. Also, we are going to stay on the disney property. Do they have conventions inside Disney?

We plan 1 year in advance always then as soon as we can book for Disney restaurants we book that also book early get what you want

If you know exactly what you want then, like everyone says, book as far in advance as you can.

We already have several bookings in place as far ahead as December 2008 and we had an enquiry for 2009 a few days ago.

Do any of you think late september or april would be a good time. Or do you have a time you would suggest. Our goal is the least amt of crowds, but everything being open. We do not plan on going to the waterparks. We would want to be able to swim in the hotel pool.

Wait a minute I just read a post that said it was 80 in Orlando the last few days. I should add. I do not wantto burn up will it be hot in late April. maybe I should be looking before sping break starts.

Missing,

The spring break time begins the first week of March practically, so going earlier than that may find you in very unpredictable weather (late February). You%26#39;d have to pack for all seasons coming then, since no one has any idea what the weather will do. One day might be warm and sunny, while the next would be cloudy and cold.

Late April temps won%26#39;t be much hotter than low to mid 80%26#39;s in Orlando, and not too much humidity, so unless you think 80 is hot, that would still be a good time for you. Any earlier, you%26#39;ll have crowds beyond comprehension.

As far as planning, one year ahead of time isn%26#39;t unrealistic, depending on the time of year you want to visit. Popular visitation times require reservations far ahead of time.

It also depends on whether you are driving or flying.

If driving I think you have far more flexability since hotel reservations can be changed.

We booked our flights 9 months in advance and are very glad because they have gone up a lot in just one month.

Thanks so much. I had no idea spring break ran that long. so it is looking like late April after spring break. I think I noted somewhere the rates changed around April 15. I think 80%26#39;s sounds perfect to me. I was hoping for the lwest rates. But I think the weather or just unable to get off will rule out those times. I will be flying. So I will start looking early. I am guessing for a relatively small fee I can cancel any reservations, if something comes up. (that is if I cancel early enough).
