Hi! I%26#39;ve read through as many of the old posts as I could but still am wondering...My husband and I (early 30s) are celebrating our first anniversary the last week in April in Miami. We will be there a total of 4 nights, 3 of which we need to be on a budget (minor splurge for the anniversary night!). From what I%26#39;ve read and looked up, is it a pipe dream to get a south beach hotel or condo for less than $150/night that is clean, safe, in decent condition and we can walk to the beach and south beach cafes, bars, etc.? bonus if there is a pool and fridge. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried the Hotel Atlantica? This hotel is extremely clean, offers continental breakfast and an in room fridge. No pool but just around the corner from the beach so no schleping involved. They have many rooms available the last week in April between 89 and 149 depending on the room type and day. Check them out:

thank you mama924. we are going to check that out! we also have seen private rentals on this site and others for the bentley and shelborne. however has anyone (besides the owners of course :))stayed at one of these places in 2007 and had a good or bad experience (already have seen the stay away from southbeachrentals postings). thanks as always!
We%26#39;ve stayed at the Boulevard Hotel right on Ocean Avenue 2 times. It%26#39;s a simple hotel, no pool or kitchen, but the location is perfect. Smack-dab in the middle of everything, with the beach right across the street. The rates are usually between $100-$150. It%26#39;s an older hotel, but the staff is nice and the rooms are clean. You can%26#39;t beat the location.
