First- how do you plan where to eat 6 months in advance? Do you think--, ';on day 1 we%26#39;ll do MK so I%26#39;ll book lunch at Cinderella%26#39;s castle that day, day 2 is epcot so lunch/dinner at Akerhaus that day??? I hate to sound like an idiot, but I%26#39;m just not sure how to plan this.
Secondly, do you find it better to plan your sit down meal for lunch, dinner, or a mix? I guess there%26#39;s some breakfast ones in there too....
Third, there are several character breakfasts- the guides all say to get to the parks super early and try to get to x,y,z most popular rides right off before it gets crowded.....seems like doing a big breakfast somewhere would hinder that method of tackling the park. Or do you go and get a few things done and go to a late breakfast/brunch?

Don%26#39;t worry, it%26#39;s not as complicated as it seems. Yes, there will be some pre-planning, but it%26#39;s not that bad.
Regarding knowing which days you%26#39;ll be in which park: If you check touring plans.com, it will give you an idea of crowd levels for each day you%26#39;ll be going. Many people try to avoid the crowds, %26amp; use this as a guide. If you%26#39;ll be a Disney resort guest, you may want to go on a day with extra magic hours(crowds will be higher). Then use that as a guide. EMH are displayed on the Disney site calendar 6 months in advance. Aside from that, think about your family%26#39;s preferences. Is there a certain park you%26#39;d like to visit the first day, %26amp; so on.
Regarding which time of day to go, it depends on your preferences. Many people like to schedule a late lunch. This will often eliminate the need for a large supper, %26amp; since the restaurants are quieter, give more time for the characters. The nice thing about going for breakfast is that you can actually schedule it for BEFORE the park opens. So say if you have 8 am reservations at the Crystal Palace, by 9 am you%26#39;ll be half way into the park when it opens!
The most helpful advice I can give you is to check the website allears.net. It has loads of Disney info. , %26amp; also lists every restaurant, their menus for each meal, %26amp; reviews. This will be very helpful in putting you on the road to a plan. You%26#39;re right, the hardest part is pre-determining which park you%26#39;ll be in on which day. However, you won%26#39;t be character dining every day, so you%26#39;ll soon find there are certain parks you can commit to on certain days. Remember to check allears, %26amp; happy planning!!

We set our itinerary as early as possible. There are several good resources for ';Best Days'; information - the three I%26#39;ve used are the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, www.tourguidemike.com, and www.buildabettermousetrip.com - the first two you do yourself, the last is a service that does it for you.
Once your trip schedule is set, making the reservations is not a complicated next step.
If you are going during a busy time, that first hour or couple of hours after opening really are the most productive so we either do a late breakfast or there are now some character lunches.
Another option is to schedule a character breakfast on your departure day, if you have a late flight. There are several at the resorts so you do not need a park ticket.

Due to the popularity of the Disney dining plan, making reservations for table service and character meals 6 months ahead of time has become a necessity, like it or not.
If you don%26#39;t do so, all spots at your chosen venues will be taken long before you arrive in Orlando. Before the dining plan, it was only necessary to make these reservations way ahead of time during peak visitation times, but now, you almost have to do it year-round.
