just booked to stay in howard johnson maingate would love a good story about the place as not read many good reviews taking 20 month old will go disney any ideas for nightlife close by.

Just an FYI, the Howard Johnson chain is one of the oldest hotel chains in Florida. Most of their hotels are closed. The ones that are open are usually not in good shape. Hate to dissapoint you but I would ask to see the room before you pay. Unless they have put some money into upkeep it may not be a very nice place.

Believe this motel is mostly for transients and migrant workers that live 6 to a room. I think I would believe the poor reviews you are reading, and considor some where else especially with a 20 month old baby. I think you in general find here in the US, you get what you pay for, especially with hotels-motels.

I wish you had read the reviews on this hotel BEFORE booking........I am afraid you are not going to be happy at all.

Can you cancel it at all as its no place to take a baby??

Only go if you want prostitutes and pimps walking past your door at all hours and dirty/disgusting rooms!!!

The Howard Johnson%26#39;s Maingate and the Howard Johnsons that just closed near the Turnpike are not the same facility. The one at the Turnpike was indeed a homeless shelter. I am not sure that is true of the Maingate one.

You might take a look at one of the hotels near Arabian Nights as being a better chioce with a little one.

I stayed once at a Howard Johnson in Miami and it was horrible.

Why don%26#39;t you try the All Star hotels? All Star Movie, All Star Music and All Star sports at Lake Buena Vista.

Your child will love the big characters posted around the hotel, also great for pictures.
