we are going in april to orlando, booked premier package with airtours, with regards to next year i was just wondering if anyone thinks we could do it less expensive, we are staying at renaissance seaworld, and have upgraded the 3 seats to premair gold, without insurance or car this cost just over 拢3000. Does anyone think I could do this any less expensive with booking flight only and hotel direct, thats 2 adults and a would be 16 year old. thanks anyone who cares to reply.

we have just booked this month for next jan and ended up taking a package with upgraded seats the same as you ...

I cant say for sure if you could find a cheaper way to do it but if there is we didnt find it, and believe me I spent a lot of time looking lol

with the package (we have a villa) the flights are a lot less than you would pay booking them directly - ours have cost 拢448 each and the cheapest direct price I could find was over 拢200 more than that.

I would be astonished if you could not book searately for less but you need to bear in mind that if you book separately you will not have ABTA cover

The best way is to scour the web and also teletext it is surprising some of the bargains you can find

Just to start you off our flights this Sept coming was 278 sterling

You think that ABTA is really any good as cover? Your holiday insurance is far better and especially if you use your credit card to pay.

Scheduled flight, wonderful condo on beach, small car .

It will be cheaper in Orlando if you shop around especially for villas.

Why pay more?

I Dont think im paying much more to be honest, I have three flights to pay for not two, so if u added another flight to your price its not that much more, also i would rather stay in a hotel, as its just me and me husband and teenage son at home, i kind of like the activity in a hotel, I could have gone for 拢500 less expensive if hadnt gone for the upgraded flights so its easy to say you would be surprised if i couldnt have found it cheaper, but really could i have.

oh right ok I see u vegas are staying for a month, instead of 2 weeks , as much as i would love to , we can only do 2 weeks with school and work etc. mabye will shop around next year, although it does take a lot of time and research etc, I think probs i am paying the going rate. interesting to see as u say what others pay.

Vegas nothing can substitute insurance but ABTA is useful, a friend of mine last year had booked for Fla as a special for his kids and grand kids all fully paid up and the firm went bankrupt, before he even knew ABTA had sent him a letter inforing of the problem and that his holiday would not be changed and that a replacement company would be in touch to confirm. within 7 days the company confirmed the itinery and the holiday went ahead without any further hitches. I am not saying it is not fool proof but it worked in this case

I have booked to go this April

3 tickets car with full insurance for 2 weeks, tank full of gas, airport parking for my car 2 weeks early check in of luggage on day of departure , 拢1070 3 bed villa @ 拢350 p w 拢1770 total.

Why spend money on upgraded seats when you can buy one with a 32 in pitch for much , much less. This is only 16 hours of your entirely holiday yet it cost so much in comparison to what you could pay if you only bought economy seats and got there a couple of seconds later

Unfortunately I have to book during school holidays when flights are expensive.

I was delighted to find, through using kayak.co.uk, scheduled flights for four adults - Glasow to Orlando in July this year for 拢1100 in total!

I had booked with Monarch, but cancelled and am stll 拢1000 in pocket!

Since then the cost has risen but it pays to keep checking the web - it is very time consuming and a smidgen addictive : )

from what i am seeing here it looks as if I was right about the package working out cheaper and therefore a better option .

the 拢448 I quoted for our flights was for the upgraded ones - the cost of that was 拢269 each so the cost for the basic economy flight was only 拢179! seems that is much cheaper than any of the direct booked ones would be.

I think you are going to find that it%26#39;s all quite subjective - we wouldn%26#39;t book a package but have had some quotes for flights/fly drives and have found this year that prices are much higher than we%26#39;ve ever paid previously.

I don%26#39;t know whether you are flying from Newcastle, but a few weeks ago I was quoted about 拢200 each for flying out of Manchester in April/May whereas similar flights from Newcastle were well over double (plus taxes - and meals if you want to take them). Part of the problem seems to be that there used to be two flights a week in early season but now there is only one so it has pushed the prices up.
